FUNCTIONAL FITNESS..And why we love it so much!

FUNKY FUNCTIONAL FITNESS

What is functional fitness and why do we love it so much?

⬛️ WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL FITNESS?

Functional fitness is when your body performs a variety of movements and a range of mobilisation that mimic ones you do in every day life, more importantly, ones you would have performed when Palaeolithic! These movements use multiple muscle groups & imitate moves we were primarily designed to do as human beings!

Jumping, lifting, climbing, throwing, swinging, stretching, pushing, crawling, twisting, bending, pulling......all movements & ranges of mobility that allow us to exist in every day life, tapping in to our primal selves like bashing our food over the head and dragging it home…but ultimately making us stronger, more agile, faster and more responsive when used in our workout regimes!

WHY WE LOVE FUNCTIONAL FITNESS?

Functional fitness builds strength, improves stability and mobility through the body, making us more efficient as human beings, not just while we workout but in our every day actions.

BENEFITS INCLUDE;

❌ Improved range mobility & coordination

❌ Increased muscle strength and movement efficiency

❌ Better physique

❌ Increased metabolic rate

❌ Improved aerobic capacity

❌ Higher lean muscle mass

❌ Better core strength

❌ Improved back health

❌ Better skeletal health

There’s so much to love about functional fitness, which is why we use it so much as part of our sessions at BC Rev; the benefits are astounding, but as with all forms of exercise, be sure to start carefully if you’re a beginner and work with a trainer who specialises in this form of exercise.

But the range of exercises are only limited by your imagination....so go wild, be a beast, tap in to your primal self and fall in love with functional fitness!
